Chapter 2
“Rai buddy? You alright? You seem kinda lost.” Daichi held his hand out, making me realize that I was on the floor. I grabbed it and got up, staggering. He walked me over to my living room, finding shattered glass scattered out on the floor. I put the butterfly knife away before he could notice I was holding it.
“Hey Rai, tell your mom I’m sorry for breaking her vase. I hope it wasn’t expensive.” He told me, and continued talking but I wasn’t listening. I was lost, trying to figure out what had just happened.
“Rai..Rai…Raaaaai?..Hey! Wake up! Heeeelllooo? Snap out of it!...Jeez. I must have really scared you there, I mea-“
“I’m fine Daichi. I promise.” Something was telling me not to tell him what I saw. I resisted.
“Alright then….Hey, the shore today right? At 1?” Daichi asked, picking up broken shards of the glass vase and putting them in a plastic bag.
“Yeah. Of course. I’ll see you then.” I said, while walking up to Daichi, getting the plastic bag from him and throwing it in the trash.
“Cool, I’ll be sure to tell Rei you’re coming this time. You’ve been kind of..off, lately, Rai. I don’t know what’s been stressing you lately, but relax, okay?” Daichi gave me a serious look, then gave a big smile, walking out of my front door, carefully shutting it behind him.
I sat down on my couch and covered my face with my hands, taking a deep breath. Who was he? What did he mean by wake up? Is this a dream? No..It couldn’t be. But why does it feel like I’m close to that boy. Like I’ve known him for a long time, yet I don’t even know his name. It didn’t make sense. Maybe Daichi was right, I just need to relax.
I looked at the clock. 12:50 PM. I stood up and walked back towards my room and went into my small closet and changed into a white v-neck, beige cargo shorts along with a solid light blue d-ring belt. I looked in the mirror. Spiky black and blonde hair. Blue eyes. The necklace.
It didn’t stand out very much. Made of leather cord that was tied in a knot, and a silver, sharp, pendant hanging from it. I looked down at it, holding the pendant in my hand. It seemed like it was glowing. It was more than just a necklace. It was a memory. It was a memory that I was holding in my hand. Before my dad had passed when I was small, he gave me this necklace. Ever since I have been wearing it. Looking at it always made me feel empty inside. When I looked back up at the mirror I noticed that there were trails of tears coming down my face. I wiped them away, and turned around, walking towards my living room, finding a familiar figure right in front of me. The boy I just saw. He was panting heavily and he had a weird color to him- he was faded. Like I could walk right through him.
“Rainn.” He said with a deep breath, standing up straight. He was short. Thin. His black hair fell into his green eyes. He was wearing a white and green vest with short sleeves collar that popped out, white shorts, and green shoes.
“You..you’re the boy! Why do I keep seeing you everywhere? Who are you? Please tell me..” I pleaded, inching closer and closer to him step by step, reaching out to him with my left hand. He took a step back avoiding me.
“So you’re Rainn.” He looked straight into my eyes with a concerned look.
“What? No….I’m Rai.”
“You’ve made stupid decisions, Rainn. Leaving everyone like that, when you were our only hope. Why would you be that selfish? I mean I know it must have been hard for you, losing everyone like that…But now you’ve made it harder for us. The world you knew is falling apart, thanks to you. Wake up, you stupid fool.” He started fading. More and more. He was disappearing.
“Wait! Don’t go!” I yelled, leaping towards him, only to go right through him as if he were a hologram. On the floor, I looked behind me to see where he just stood. He was gone. He vanished in thin air.
“There’s not much time left, Rainn!” His voice echoed in the room.
So I sat there on the floor. Thinking, what in the world he was talking about. None of it made sense. What stupid decisions have I made? I was selfish? Losing everyone? I didn’t get it. Nothing clicked. A sharp pain in my head. The noise again. Darkness.
I can’t go back…No…There’s no point. Not for me. Let the world suffer just as I have. I don’t care. I don’t have anyone worth fighting for. This is where I belong. I am happy here. Continue, Rai. Be happy. Do it for your own sake. For our own sake.
“Who are you?”
“I’m..someone very close to you. More than anyone else.”
“Can you tell me?”
“I’m afraid…It’s best…If you never knew. Goodbye, Rai.”
“No..wait…I want answers!”
“The answers are too hard for us to handle.”
“Us?”
I opened my eyes, staring at the ceiling. Nothing made sense anymore. Nothing.

That's how our forums work, been like that as far as I remember.

I didn't see anything that got me confused like the last part, but I'm definitely going to follow this story. It feels like something you'd get in Teen Fiction in any bookstore, which is awesome. I love TF stories.
