Do You Bother to Haggle with the CW Shops?, October 17 2009 @ 8:40PM by
I'm just curious about who besides me takes the 10% off the price for the things in the Marketplace. I do it with everything except for the really new things I don't have yet. Many is the time I have been excited to find a brand new bit of clothing in Fashion Passion only to have it purchased right under my nose as I am putting in the cheaper price ^_^

When you click on the thing you want to buy, the price pops up in a little box. You can erase the price the store is asking for and put in a slightly lower price. If it's not too low, the store accepts it.

I didn't know what she meant either, Rosa. But, when you click an item to purchase from the official shops (not user shops) you can haggle the price. There is a pop up asking if you are sure you want to buy the item at (x) amount of dollars...you can highlight the numbers and type in a different amount to try and haggle with the vendor.
A lot of the time this probably gets you a cheaper price for the item, but it can sometimes lead to you loosing the chance to purchase the item if more than one person is trying to buy the item at the same time. Norty, I honestly didn't know about that function until you said something...what a long time user I am

I discovered it by accident as I was getting used to the site when I was curious why the price came up in a type-in-able box. It took me a few tries to figure out that the most you can take off is 10%, though ^_^

I would, but I'm to lazy to change it, I only did it one day, just for fun because I had nothing to do, lol

I do it all the time unless it's a rare and/or new item.
I'm trying to save enough money so I can become a millionaire but also have some of the cool stuff. |

Interesting! Most people seem to haggle. That's pretty cool ^_^

Depending on the items demand whether I haggle or not. Like in the Halloween shop, I certainly don't! But if the item is not in a great demand or there isn't too many people online, then I will.

Nah, can't be bothered. I used to, though.

I do that exact thing, Nortara, 10% off unless I fear that it'll get snatched away while I haggle. Sometimes, though, if I'm not paying attention, or I make a typo, I end up paying more than I have to, which is annoying.

I usually haggle, but if there is a rare item in a shop plus other users, I just go with the set price. can't waste time, ya know?

I have been haggling ever since I have been on CW (the box reminded me of another site where you can haggle too, so I gave it a try). But for the costumes or weapons, I just /leap/ onto it, no matter the price!
