Moon landing, July 21 2009 @ 2:04AM by Ian
Oh hey, we landed on the moon 40 years ago yesterday!

Congratulations mankind!

But did we actually land? Put a smile on!

And, how many of you actually watched this on TV? I know there's a good chunk of the members here who are 45+

Hoax! Hoax! It's all a hoax! Put a smile on!

Uh... I really doubt we had the technology during 1969 to actually fake a moon landing.

In my honest opinion, it wasn't a hoax; it was the real deal and man did really land on the moon. Put a smile on!

But then again, who really knows.

Sorry if I ruined your fun, Cinamon.

That was actually Buzz Aldrin and he punched Bart Sibrel in the face after Sibrel shouted, "You're the one who said you walked on the moon and you didn't!" and "thief, liar and coward",

Why would we want to hoax something like that? What would be the point? I believe it was real. Of course I didn't see it on the TV, but, I do believe that what I have heard and what I have read in textbooks are correct.

Technically you can't believe that everything in a text book is real. A teacher of mine once told my class that most of the stuff in text books are true, but from a biased point of view. I just read an article on that recently. Here's the link:

But I do think that a man did manage to land on the moon. Put a smile on!

ok If it was all a hoax then how can you explain the American flag on the moon, seeing the dark side of the moon, Seeing the Great Wall Of China FROM the moon (not the space station thing) and the Great Reef thing off the coast of Australia??? and I was born way after 69 but really people wouldn't lie bout that the people at nasa would be liked killed or arrested for making up that big of a lie. If it was a lie, which it's not (sorry Cinamon)

Of course most of them are true, but its rare that any are false, its a text book, you can't expect everything in it to be true fact but the majority of it will be knowledge, its facts, its not opinions, IMO. I think our school systems know which text books to pick and know what is true in them, if they think it will help us in life, they will teach it to us.

Actually, many cases have been reported about biased things in text books in schools all around the world. I'm sure school systems don't always check to see what they are using as resources as well as they would like. Something biased in a text book is inevitable. I'm just saying that you shouldn't believe every word that you are taught because they know more then you.

LOL, its just a textbook, haha. Its what I learn from, what I study from and what I know helps me, haha. I don't remember half of what I learned, and I am sure most of that isn't biased, however, sometimes pushing theories into textbooks and having us learn these theories, such as global warming, could be biased.

I've never watched the moon landing. I think it's true, but I don't feel strong about it. It is still plausible that it's faked, in my opinion, even if I don't think so. Lots of reason to do so too.

I've also never read about it in a textbook. I'm guessing it's in the cold war topic which I haven't studied.

I don't think textbooks are really biased here. They give both sides of the argument for global warming, and just about everything else (apart from creationism and evolution). Though I understand that countries which are more nationalist, like China, may have more biased textbooks. The US might be the same, but I don't know.

I saw it on TV and I have watched documentaries on it. In my opinion, it was a fake. Oh and yeah, in the 60's we had the technology to fake a moon landing a lot more than actually landing on the moon.

Why do you think it was a fake?
