My eyes flutter. As I open them I gasp in despair. All I see is darkness. When will the light come? Only time will tell. I know it is morning. Birds are singing, children playing, cars racing. But all I see is darkness. My eyes search for a small spec of light. But they come up empty. My mind races back to yesterday....

It was a beautiful day, the sun bright, happiness filling the air. I was heading down Main street, hurrying to campus. I was late, again. The only bad thing about living off campus is trying to get there on time. As I rushed across the street, a car sped around the corner. I froze as the car came closer, do I run? Then sudden pain washed over me, my head hurt, my leg hurt, was it night time? I woke up in the hospital. I opened my eyes and screamed. I was blind. The doctor told me I had hit my head so hard that I know had severe vision loss.

The tears in my eyes brought me back to the present. My life would never be the same again.
